The entire NPP must be subjected to disciplinary process, not Abronye alone – Hamza Suhuyini
Hamza Suhuyini, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team, has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in its entirety should be held accountable for what he describes as “reckless political commentary.”Remove AdsRemove Ads
Speaking on the recent disciplinary measures taken against the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, Suhuyini argued that it would be unfair for Abronye alone to face the party’s disciplinary committee as leaders of the party have equally made “reckless” political statements in the past.
For him, the entire party must be subjected to a disciplinary process not just Abronye DC.
“If there’s anybody or group of persons to be made to face any disciplinary committee, it is not just Abronye, it is the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in its entirety that needs to actually face a disciplinary committee because the party has become a den of indiscipline and reckless political commentary.
“And so, it will not be fair to the likes of Abronye DC if you subject them to a so-called disciplinary committee without subjecting the entirety of that institution to disciplinary process,” he said on TV3 New Day’s The Big Issue, Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
Abronye DC was recently sanctioned over alleged misconduct and actions deemed damaging to the NPP’s image and internal cohesion.Remove AdsRemove Ads
According to a petition filed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the Bono Regional Chairman is accused of making defamatory remarks against senior party members, spreading false allegations, and breaching confidentiality.
Concluding his statement, Suhuyini emphasized that even when the NDC was in opposition and confronted with instability, the party survived those challenges because it upheld discipline.
He added that the NDC has always prioritized party principles over personalities, particularly when it comes to issues of indiscipline, a standard he believes the NPP has failed to maintain.
