Zini Kuoro’s Palace Rallies Support for Injured Ministers

The Zini Kuoro’s Palace has publicly expressed its heartfelt concern and prayers for the recovery of the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Hon. Adam Mohammed Sukparu, following the road accident that involved them earlier this month.

In a statement issued on February 20, 2026, the Paramount Chief of Zini, Kuoro Abu Diaka Sukabe Ninia (V), speaking on behalf of the chiefs, elders and the wider Sissala community, described the incident as deeply saddening but also a moment of gratitude that lives were spared.

The two ministers were travelling along the Bolgatanga–Tumu road on Thursday, February 12, 2026, after accepting an invitation from the people of Sisaala to attend activities marking the 40th anniversary celebration of Tumu College of Education. News of the accident cast a heavy mood over what was meant to be a joyful occasion, particularly given the significance of the anniversary to the area.

Despite the shock and concern that followed, the palace emphasized appreciation to the Almighty for protecting the lives of the ministers. The statement also acknowledged their longstanding commitment and contribution to the development of the Sissala area, noting that their service to the people has not gone unnoticed.

The traditional leadership has called on citizens across Sisaala land to remain united in prayer and goodwill, especially during this Ramadan period, asking for strength, healing and full recovery for the two leaders. At the same time, the public has been urged to understand and respect any necessary changes to the ministers’ schedules and privacy as they focus on regaining their health.

The message from the palace reflects a strong sense of unity and solidarity within the community, a reminder that in moments of difficulty, Sisaala stands together in faith, support and hope for better days ahead.
