Accra Hearts of Oak and Black Stars goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare, has revealed that the foundation of his goalkeeping success is built on hard work, preparation, and a focused mindset.

The 32-year-old shot-stopper earned his first call-up to the Ghana national team following a string of standout performances in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

As a player, the secret is hard work; training, preparation, and mindset. You have to be aggressive about it because without these things, you cannot make it as a footballer

His debut call-up to the Black Stars came during a crucial period, as Ghana played a double-header in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, securing all six points with an emphatic eight goals scored across both matches.

Asare credited the warm reception he received in camp for boosting his confidence, especially from the senior players.

With his performances drawing national attention, Benjamin Asare has proven that local league talent can rise to the highest level; and thrive.
