The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), has announced plans to equip all Community Information Centers (CIC) across the country by the end of the year. The event attracted numerous partners and participants for its grand conclusion. The CEO of GIFEC indicated that the CICs would be activated in the coming months to facilitate continuous learning for these young girls upon their return.

GIFEC, which is operating under the Ministry of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Technology through its capacity-building program, has been instrumental in providing ICT, literacy, and digital skills to diverse groups within the country, including women, students, teachers, community leaders, and the youth. During the concluding ceremony of the girls in ICT program, Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr. Sofo Tanko Rashid Computer emphasized that the initiative aligns with GIFEC’s mission by targeting young girls and equipping them with foundational ICT skills. This early introduction to ICT aims to prepare them for advanced digital courses in the future.

Mr. Tanko also highlighted that previously neglected Community Information Centers (CIC) across the nation would be revitalized to ensure these young girls can continue their learning journey when they return to their communities.
