Adu-Boahene’s trial to resume mid-October – Srem-Sai
Deputy Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Justice Srem-Sai, has revealed that the criminal trial involving Adu-Boahene and three others will resume in mid-October 2025, following the end of the legal vacation.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, August 28, Justice Srem-Sai also dismissed reports suggesting that the Attorney-General’s office has lost key evidence in the case.
“The Attorney-General’s office has not lost any evidence regarding the ongoing Republic v Adu-Boahene criminal trial,” he clarified.
According to him, as of June 18, prosecutors had already filed all the documents they intend to rely on in court. These include contracts of sale, bank wire transfer records, company registration details, property ownership documents, purchase receipts, INTERPOL stolen vehicle reports, investigative caution and charge statements, asset non-declaration records, and a flow chart tracing money movements through several bank accounts. The testimonies of three prosecution witnesses are also part of the filed materials.
He added that certified copies of all documents had been served on the four accused persons, making any claims of lost evidence “not even realistic.”
Updating the public on the trial’s progress, Justice Srem-Sai noted that before the legal vacation began on July 31, the first prosecution witness had completed testimony and had been cross-examined by lawyers for three of the four accused.
The trial is set to continue in earnest once court resumes in October.
