Sisaala West DCE Hon. Abudu Fuseini Gbene Inspires Pupils
On “My First Day at School,” the DCE for Sisaala West District, Hon. Abudu Fuseini Gbene on September 2, 2025. visits Basic Schools to welcome pupils and new entrants and encourage them to stay in school. This initiative, organized by the Sisaala West District Assembly and Sisaala West District Education Directorate, aims to motivate children by interacting with them and distributing gifts like kalyppo and biscuits to the pupils. The DCE also uses the opportunity to address teachers, discuss challenges, and assure them of continued government support for educational logistics and quality education..
To encourage parents and guardians to enrol their children in school at the right age, ensuring that every child has access to Basic education, making their first day at school memorable and encouraging regular attendance, and emphasize the importance of early childhood education as the foundation for lifelong learning and development.
The DCE, along with education officers, visited several schools within the district, including Kandia Basic School, Buoti Basic School, Sorbelle Bullu Basic School and Kupulima Basic School. The visits aimed to personally welcome the new pupils, interact with them and provide words of encouragement.
The DCE, in his address, expressed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting education as a key pillar of the District’s development agenda. He highlighted the importance of starting school early and receiving a quality education as foundational steps towards a brighter future.
The DCE also acknowledged the efforts of teachers and parents in nurturing young minds and called for continued collaboration to ensure that every child in the District has access to education.
