A coalition of more than 490 youth organizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), including both substantive and deputy youth organizers from across Ghana, has declared its firm and unwavering support for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the party’s presidential primary scheduled for January 2026.
The declaration came during a strategic meeting held on July 29, 2025, where representatives from various constituencies affirmed their confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s “exceptional leadership, proven track record, and vision for Ghana’s future.”
In a statement released after the meeting, the coalition commended Dr. Bawumia for his “unwavering commitment to national development, digital transformation, sound economic reforms, and consistent dedication to empowering Ghana’s young people.”
They further highlighted that his “innovative policies and forward-looking governance approach make him the ideal leader to steer Ghana beyond 2028.”
As a symbolic demonstration of their loyalty, the group announced plans to mobilize resources and collect Dr. Bawumia’s nomination forms on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
“Our goal is to energize the youth base nationwide, ensuring a strong and vibrant grassroots presence ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle,” the statement said. “We believe in Dr. Bawumia’s ability to build a more inclusive, resilient, and prosperous Ghana. Our pledge today is not just a political endorsement; it is a solemn commitment to securing a better future for the next generation.”
The coalition also called on “all well-meaning Ghanaians, especially the youth, to unite behind Dr. Bawumia in his continued pursuit of economic resilience, job creation, and national progress.”
