Hon. Adamu Yakubu Confirmed as Sissala East MCE with Resounding Support

The Sissala East Municipal Assembly has confirmed Hon. Adamu Yakubu as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), following a highly decisive vote of confidence from assembly members.

Out of a total of 31 votes cast, Hon. Yakubu secured an overwhelming 30 ‘Yes’ votes, with only 1 ‘No’ vote recorded. The results reflect not only broad endorsement from the Assembly but also growing expectations for strong and inclusive leadership under his watch.

The confirmation vote, which took place at the Tumu Municipal Assembly Hall, was supervised by officials from the Electoral Commission and witnessed by traditional authorities, stakeholders, and members of the public.

Following the announcement, the atmosphere was filled with applause and handshakes, as members and supporters congratulated Hon. Yakubu on what many described as a well-earned mandate. His confirmation is seen as a major step toward stability and progress for the municipality.

In a brief address after the results were declared, Hon. Adamu Yakubu expressed his deep appreciation to the Assembly for the overwhelming support. He pledged to work with all stakeholders to ensure development reaches every corner of the municipality, while also emphasizing accountability and unity.

With his confirmation now official, Hon. Yakubu is expected to hit the ground running, focusing on priority areas such as road infrastructure, youth empowerment, health, education, and strengthening local governance structures.
