Corruption, abuse of power must have no place in our military – Mahama to GAF council
President John Dramani Mahama has charged the newly constituted Armed Forces Council to uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and professionalism in the Ghana Armed Forces.
The President underscored the vital role of the Armed Forces Council in shaping military policies and ensuring that the security forcaes operate with professionalism and dedication to national service.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony on Monday, March 24, President Mahama emphasized the need for ethical conduct and transparency in the military, warning against corruption and abuse of power.
“As a member of the Armed Forces Council, you must ensure that the highest standards of ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability are maintained within the ranks of our armed forces.
“Corruption, misconduct, and abuse of power must have no place in our military. Your leadership must inspire confidence, fairness, and trust both within the armed forces and among the Ghanaian people,” he stated.
The newly sworn-in council, chaired by Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, is expected to provide strategic oversight and direction for the Ghana Armed Forces.
