Electoral Commission Debunks Misleading Claims on Voting Dates

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has refuted claims made during a broadcast on Wontumi TV that suggested different voting dates for various presidential candidates in the upcoming general election. In a press release issued on November 24, 2024, the Commission urged the public to disregard these false statements and clarified that voting will take place on a single day—Saturday, December 7, 2024.

The EC emphasized that polling stations will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on election day, and all eligible voters are encouraged to turn out in their numbers to cast their votes in an orderly and peaceful manner.

Reiterating its commitment to transparency, fairness, and integrity, the Commission reminded citizens that their participation is vital to shaping the nation’s future.

The public is advised to rely on official communications from the EC to avoid being misled by unverified information.
