RADFORDFM ELECTION-HOUSE LAUNCHES COMM. CONNECT PROGRAMME FOR SISSALA EAST AND WEST

RadfordFM, a community-based radio station serving the Sissala community, has launched a two-month-long Community Connect programme in selected communities within the Sissala East and West Districts ahead of the 2024 parliamentary elections. Under the Radford FM Election House project, citizens in these selected communities will be given the opportunity to voice their concerns through Radford FM on “Issues that will influence their voting decisions” ahead of the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.

The Head of Programmes, Mr. Samuel Batuame, disclosed that the programme is set to begin tomorrow, October 10th, 2024, at the Tumu lorry station, where voters will be invited to discuss matters that will shape their voting decisions for December 7th, 2024. Other targeted communities include Nabulo, Welembelle, Gwollu, and Sakai. The first phase also covers Sorbelle, Banu, Challu, and Nabugubelle. Parliamentary aspirants will be notified to participate in the programme in these selected communities, where members of the community will be encouraged to raise election-related concerns.

Aspirants will have the opportunity to present their messages and clarify issues raised by voters, with the discussions moderated by RadfordFM, focusing largely on the role of an MP. The programmes will be broadcast live on RadfordFM 107.5, Facebook Live @RadfordFM 107.5FM, and the RadfordFM website: www.radfordfmnews.com. The public is encouraged to actively participate in this year’s #RADFORDFMELECTIONHOUSE.

As part of the RADFORDFM ELECTION HOUSE, there will also be debates among aspirants from Sissala East and Sissala West, with individual profiles featured on live radio. Mr. Batuame assured listeners that the station will provide comprehensive coverage of the 2024 elections. He called on organizations interested in election-related activities to sponsor the programme, promoting accountability and participation in underserved communities. The host, Mr. Bapagu Bashiru, also known as McBash, appealed to the public to maintain respectful language throughout the Community Connect, debate, and aspirant profiling segments. He further announced that this year’s Radford FM Election House will feature enhanced software for collecting results from polling centres.
