First-year SHS students to report to school on October 18 – GES
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that first-year students in Senior High Schools (SHS), both Single Track and Transitional schools across the country are to report to school on Saturday, October 18 2025.Remove AdsRemove Ads
In an official circular issued to all Regional Directors of Education, the GES noted the arrangement is part of the newly released 2025/2026 academic calendar.
The statement directed that all Heads of schools, Regional Directors to ensure a strict adherence to the new academic calendar to guarantee consistency and smooth implementation across all schools.
GES urged Regional Directors to provide the necessary monitoring and support to Heads of Schools in the execution of the calendar.
The letter, signed by Mr. Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, also indicated that a detailed academic calendar has been attached for implementation. This includes key term dates, holidays, and footnotes explaining special considerations to support a smooth academic year.Remove AdsRemove Ads
“The Service counts on your usual cooperation to ensure effective teaching and learning in our institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year,” the GES stated.
