Apart from Akufo-Addo, no govt in Ghana has been able to commission 80 school buildings same day – Gabby
A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Otchere-Darko, has touted the achievements of the Akufo-Addo administration.
In the area of education, he said no government in the history of Ghana has been able to commission 80 school buildings on the same day across the country as we saw a few weeks ago. It is recalled that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Thursday, November 21, commissioned 80 completed educational projects across all 16 regions of the country, in a historic milestone aimed at improving access to quality education and creating a conducive learning environment for students nationwide.
The nationwide event was marked by simultaneous commissioning ceremonies at district and regional levels, with Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum playing prominent roles. In his address at a brief commissioning exercise at the St. Barnabas Anglican Basic School in Osu in the Greater Accra Region, the President emphasized his government’s unwavering commitment to education.
“Today, we reaffirm our dedication to ensuring that every Ghanaian child has access to quality education in a safe and well-equipped environment. These projects demonstrate our determination to bridge the educational infrastructure gap across the country,” he said.
In a post post on his X page, Mr Otchere-Darko said “No government in the history of our nation has been able to commission 80 school buildings on the same day across the country as we saw a few weeks ago.”
In the area of health infrastructure, he stated that “No government, until Akufo-Addo’s, had the courage to undertake 111 major hospital projects in over 101 districts and seven regions across the country, simultaneously. Will a Mahama government find the $1.4 billion needed to complete Agenda 111 or find an excuse to focus on his own new contracts of priority if elected?”
