Sissala West Assembly Confirms Mahamudu Forkah as DCE after Second Attempt

Sissala West Assembly has finally reached a consensus in the confirmation of Mr. Mahamudu Forkah, popularly known as Asante Man, as the District Chief Executive.
The confirmation comes after a challenging journey marked by a previous unsuccessful attempt and persistent struggles to secure the required majority.
In the confirmation process, Mr. Mahamudu Forkah faced his second attempt to win the approval of the Assembly members.

In his initial bid, he obtained 18 Yes votes and 12 No votes, with one rejected ballot, falling short of the two-thirds majority required for confirmation, given the total votes cast of 31.
Undeterred by the setback, Mr. Forkah persevered, and in the recent confirmation round, he achieved a significant turnaround.

The results revealed a clear mandate from the Assembly members, with 23 Yes votes, constituting 74.2% of the total votes cast. On the other side, there were 8 No votes, making up the remaining 25.8%, with no rejected ballot.
