Sissala East: MP Chronicles Achievements in Healthcare and Education

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Sissala East Constituency, who also serves as the Deputy Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Hon. Issahaku Amidu Chinnia has chronicled some developmental projects he has undertaken predominantly in healthcare and education across the constituency.

According to the MP, about 22-bed hospital wards have been established under his leadership in key locations such as Sakai, Nabugubelle, Bugubelle, and Nwanduanu, which are expected to enhance access to medical care for residents throughout the constituency.
Delivering a speech during the 2024 ‘Paarigbiele’ Festival on March 23, 2024, he mentioned that he has donated an ambulance and intends to donate another one to Walembelle and Nabulo health centers respectively which are intended to provide prompt emergency response services.
The MP also added that he has given the Nabulo Health Centre a befitting facelift while aiming to upgrade other healthcare facilities to improve patient care in their catchment areas.

On educational infrastructure, Hon. Amidu Issahaku Chinnia said he has constructed and renovated classroom blocks in Nankpawie, Jijen, Katinia, Nitalu, and Tanviali for better learning environments for pupils.
Moreover, he has stated that his commitment to education has also been extended to sponsoring two students from the Constituency to study medicine, to become medical doctors. He said he has also sponsored over 130 students from the senior high level to the tertiary who are pursuing diverse programmes of key interest to the growth and development of the constituency.

Beyond healthcare and education, the Deputy Sanitation and Water Resources Minister also said he has made efforts in other aspects of community development, including donation of refrigerators to selected health facilities, procurement of delivery beds, anti-snake vaccines for health services, and provision of about 40 boreholes across the constituency.

Additionally, he said he has donated motorbikes to the Tumu Police and Fire Services, as well as facilitating the recruitment of about 86 young people into the Services.
This year’s ‘Paarigbiele’ Festival was celebrated under the theme: “Curbing the rising incidence of chieftaincy, land, and political violence: a call to embrace diversity.”

HEALTH:

1. Establishment of a 22-bed hospital ward in Sakai.

4. Establishment of a 22-bed hospital ward in Nwanduanu.
5. Acquisition of a state-of-the-art ambulance for Walembelle.
6. Acquisition of a state-of-the-art ambulance for Nabulo.
7. Renovation of the entire Nabulo Health Centre.
8. Procurement of delivery beds for the Sissala East Health Directorate, for distribution to various health facilities across the constituency.
9. Procurement of anti-snake vaccine for the Sissala East Health Directorate, for onward distribution to health facilities across the constituency.
10. Donation of refrigerators to selected health facilities in the constituency.

EDUCATION:
11. Construction of a 3-unit classroom block in Nankpawie.
12. Renovation of a 6-unit classroom block in Jijen.
13. Construction of a 3-unit classroom block in Katinia.
14. Construction of a 3-unit classroom block in Nitalu.
15. Renovation of the Sissala East Municipal Education Directorate.
16. Construction of a 3-unit classroom block in Tanviali.
17. Payment of school fees for over 130 students from the senior high level to Ghanaian tertiary schools.

TUMU POLICE AND FIRE SERVICES, OTHERS:
18. Maintenance work on a broken-down vehicle for the Sissala East Education Directorate.
19. Full sponsorship of the Sissala East Municipal Best Teachers’ Awards.
20. Donation of motorbikes to the Tumu Police Command.
21. Donation of motorbikes to the Tumu Fire Service.
22. Facilitation of the recruitment of 86 young people across the constituency into various the Services.
23. Facilitation of the visibility of the Tumu Police Command by providing them with fuel.
24. Drilling of about 40 boreholes across the constituency, funded from his common fund.
25. Construction of a road from Nabugubelle to Yigantu, funded from his common fund.
26. Numerous donations from his common fund to individuals, private institutions, governmental institutions, and agencies.
